The WordPress Developer manages our online presence by building and enhancing our WordPress website, in support of our nationwide Ellie Mental Health system. Key responsibilities include developing innovative features, optimizing performance, and updating content for new clinics. This position will be responsible for enhancing the user experience, improving web operations, and shaping the appointment scheduling funnel as well as day to day website maintenance and updates.

Compensation: 
  • The salary range for this position is $74,300 - $85,200 per year 
Primary Responsibilities:       
  • Responsible for maintaining and optimizing Ellie Mental Health’s WordPress website for speed, performance, and SEO 
  • Own and collaborate with the Web Coordinator to manage updates via web tickets, including the addition of new location pages and franchise clinician bios to the site. Additionally, work to create a more automatic process for these updates.  ·   
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to identify and prioritize key web updates and features. Provide recommendations and solutions while driving the development process from concept to completion. ·        
  • Maintain code, plugin, and theme updates while ensuring site speed and security  ·        
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to website functionality and up-time    
  • Implement custom functionalities and features using WordPress plugins, themes and custom code ·        
  • Collaborate with marketing team on the implementation of website layouts and overall visual concepts, using responsive
    front-end development principles.  ·        
  • Collaborates across departments to identify and develop new functionality requirements ·        
  • Optimize website performance, focusing on site speed and responsiveness across various devices and screen sizes.   
  • Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of website development, including content placement, typography, branding, and layout. 
  • Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve any issues or bugs ·        
  • Stayupdated on the latest trends, techniques, and best practices for WordPress development, as well as web design. ·        
  • Other duties as assigned or required.  
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):  
  • Proficient in building and maintaining custom-built WordPress themes and plugins with a deep understanding of template/component-based website architecture
  • Strong front-end development skills using HTML, JS, PHP, CSS/Sass          
  • Knowledge of MySQLdatabase management and optimization techniques for WordPress            
  • Proficient in interfacing with and writing code for APIs from external systems. ·           
  • Familiarity withJavaScript and jQuery for front-end development, including AJAX for dynamic content loading 
  • Follows accessibility, security, and compliance best practices when writing code ·           
  • Ability to work with WordPress multisite installations ·           
  • Ability to analyze issues and suggest or determine solutions. ·           
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. ·           
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, changing environment.    
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.     
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams to achieve goals. ·           
  • Maintains strict confidentiality handling client information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines and Ellie policies.      
  • Demonstrates awareness, inclusivity, sensitivity, humility, and experience in working with individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, sexual orientations, gender identities, and other various aspects of culture  
Education and Experience:  
  • 3+ years of experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, WordPress, WordPress REST API, ACF
    Plugin, Javascript, JQuery, AJAX.  
  • BA/BS is preferred  
  • BONUS: Knowledge of Advanced Custom Fields Plugin, Gutenberg, Webflow, SEO Best Practices, Schema, Google Tag Manager, Coding for ADA Compliance, Advanced Analytics, Iterable, CDP Integrations, Familiarity with HIPAA compliance requirements in a healthcare environment.
